Pressing Pause
Building Something Bigger for Love a Pitbull Day
Every September, we’ve looked forward to gathering in celebration of our beloved pit bulls and the people who love them. Love a Pitbull Day has always been more than an event — it’s a joyful moment of education, advocacy, community, and connection.
This year, however, we’ve made the difficult decision to postpone Love a Pitbull Day until September 2026.
While the spirit of the event is strong, we realized that we simply don’t have the number of volunteers needed to put on a safe and successful gathering in 2025. It takes a minimum of 15 volunteers to run the event well — and as of now, our small but mighty team just can’t meet that mark.
This was not an easy decision, but it’s one made with care. Rather than pushing forward with limited resources, we’re choosing to press pause now so we can grow something even bigger together.
Over the next year, our focus will be on:
- Welcoming new volunteers into the Covenant Creatures family
- Reimagining the event with fresh ideas and community input
- Creating space for stronger partnerships with local vendors, organizations, and advocates
If you’ve ever enjoyed the event, or wanted to get involved, now is the perfect time to join us. We’re looking for volunteers to help not just with the event, but with our year-round work supporting pet owners in need across Thurston County and beyond.
Volunteer with us here:
And if you’re one of the amazing vendors who already registered for 2025 — thank you! Your spot is locked in for 2026, and we’ll be reaching out to hear more about what you’d like to see in the next version of the event.
We’re so grateful to everyone who has supported Love a Pitbull Day over the years. We’re not stepping away — we’re stepping back, so we can move forward with strength, care, and a whole lot of love.
Let’s build something amazing, together.
— The Covenant Creatures Team
